Areas to Serve at CCPC
Elders - It is the duty of elders, individually or jointly, to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation committed to their charge. Together with the pastor, they should encourage the people in worship and service of God, equip and renew them for their tasks within the church and for their mission in the world. Together with the ministers of the Word and Sacrament, they exercise leadership, government, and discipline and have the responsibilities for the life of the church at large, including ecumenical relationships. Elders should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgement. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel, both with the church and in the world.
Finance Committee – This committee is responsible for overseeing the church’s finances and makes recommendations to the Session for any changes.
Building & Grounds Committee – This committee is responsible for taking care of our building and the grounds.
Personnel Committee – This Committee deals with all personnel related issues. It should be composed of 2 Elders chosen by the Session and one additional member of the congregation.
Christian Education Committee – This committee oversees the Discovery Class, book study and devotionals.
Music & Worship Committee – This committee oversees the Worship Team (Liturgists, Communion Servers, Ushers, and Greeters), Marquee Sign Changers, Decorating Team and the Music Team (chimes and special music).
Outreach Committee - This committee oversees the Food Bank Team, Fellowship Team and Compassionate Care Team.
